Prescriptions (Rx) are a core feature of a physician's workflow. A busy clinic sees many patients throughout the day that need prescriptions for their care. Historically this was just written on paper or printed and given in person. Occasionally a patient would call in for a prescription renewal, and that refill could be faxed over to their pharmacy. These options were all slow and labor intensive. The process needed a modern, technological change to innovate on how prescriptions are delivered. The COVID-19 pandemic brought new challenges to this system, with many patients being seen via tele-health or phone calls there is an added increase in complexity in such workflows.
The reality is that with most of our competitors, when you are creating a prescription fax in their EMR, there are too many clicks, pop ups, printing, and physical faxing involved. Step 1 - Navigate to “Prescriptions” and add new medication in the EHR system as part of patient's profile;
Step 2 - Click on “Create Prescription” (If it is a renewal of medicine, you do not need to do Step 1 as the medicine data already exists in the patient profile);
Step 3 - Choose between ‘Save & Print’ or ‘Save & eFax’ for the prescription;
Step 4 - Click on “eFax”, select the recipient and click “Send”.
